Multi-lingual student achieves success at speech contests
Third-year Linguistics major Joohyeon has many educational pursuits under her belt. She has a degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Ulsan and a Certificate in Japanese. In addition, Joohyeon recently won grand prize at the Alberta District Japanese Speech Contest in the Intermediate Level and won second place at Nationals at York University. Joohyeon is originally from Korea and is working at the University of Regina as a teaching assistant for the International Languages Department within the Faculty of Arts. What's next for Joohyeon? She'd like to continue her academic studies and eventually obtain a graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology. "When I'm finished my studies, I'd like to have a career here in Canada where I will work with people who have speech and language disorders."
