Brenda Beckman-Long researches and teaches in the areas of Twentieth-century Canadian Literature, Canadian Women's Writing, and Autobiography Theory. She has published articles and book chapters on representation and feminist theory, nationalism and gender, gendered confession, and prairie women writers in English Studies in Canada, Tessera, Literature and Theology, Studies in Canadian Literature, Challenging Territory: The Writing of Margaret Laurence (1997), and West of Eden: Essays on Canadian Prairie Literature (2009). Her current research
project is on The Politics of Self-representation in Carol Shields.
